Abstract

Early chilhoood.this research is motivated by a case that occurred in RA Al Hidayah where  one of the mentally retarded students who had difficulty in dealing with those  who participated, therefore he has a bad character. Therefore an effort or strategy is needed so that the child has a better character. The purpose of this study was to obtain information about the inculcation of the values of discipline, friendly and social care character in mentally retarded children. This research design was a qualitative research desgn with a case study method in students. However, mentally retarded children still need character education to be accepted in their environment, for that we need a good and fun method to grow the character of mentally retarded children. One of them is by giving gifts. Based on research result obtained from pets. Grow the character of mentally retarded children ask for cooperation berwen the school and the family, therefore there must be a common understanding from both parties regarding this prize method, so that it will improve character education more effectively in the scool environment both at home.
