Abstract

This study aims to examine the achievement and improvement of mathematical communication skills of junior high school students whose learning using realistic mathematics education approach compared with using ordinary learning. The method of this research is quasi-experimental method with pretest-postes research design. The population in this study is the junior high school students in Cimahi, while the research sample is class VII G as the experimental class and class VII H as the control class. The experimental class uses learning with realistic mathematics education approach while the control class uses ordinary learning. The result of the research is the achievement of mathematical communication ability of junior high school students whose learning using realistic mathematics education approach is better than using ordinary learning, increasing the mathematical communication ability of high school students whose learning using realistic mathematics education approach is better than using ordinary learning.
